The best times to visit Beijing are from March to May and from September to October. These temperate seasons provide the best climate, not to mention colorful scenery. In contrast, summer brings sweltering heat, and winter ushers in cold temps and sometimes snow.

July is the hottest month in Beijing with an average temperature of 27°C (81°F) and the coldest is January at-4°C (25°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 12 in June. The wettest month is August with an average of 182mm of rain.
China City, Beijing, China’s national capital, is situated at the north edge of the North China Plain. Not far to its northwest is the vast Inner Mongolian Plateau and a hundred kilometers to the east is the Bohai Sea.
