Non-Emergency Numbers
The 000 number is only to be used if someone is seriously injured, in need of urgent medical help, if life or property is being threatened, or if the caller has just witnessed a serious accident or crime.
There are two non-emergency police numbers. To contact the police in situations that are not emergencies, call 131 444. This number is not valid in Victoria, where callers should contact their local police station.
