What makes Google Pixel 3 the best Android phone at the moment?
Rejoice, smartphone lovers! Your new Android king has arrived!
Yes ー you read that right ー there is no other smartphone like Google Pixel 3 currently at the market.
So, what makes the third version of Google Pixel so unique?
For starters, there is a much-improved design. Have you seen that bad boy? Google Pixel 3 looks futuristic, elegant with just the right amount of classiness and style. Second and more important, this smartphone is not just another eye-candy. Its real charms lie “under the hood.”
If you are thinking about switching to a new Android model, look no further. In the following text below, we are going to give you four reasons why Google Pixel 3 is the best Android phone at the moment. Be sure to read the whole article because we saved the best feature for last (or just skip to the end!).
Let’s begin!
Marvelous design
To say at least! It’s no shame in admitting that Google Pixel 1 and Google Pixel 2 weren’t that stylish and fashionable. They had great specifications considering the time of their release, but Google hasn’t put much effort into making them appealing to a user’s eye. Fortunately, Google decided to keep up with the trends, and the result was a new, improved design.
When you first take a look at Google Pixel 3, there are high chances that you won’t be satisfied with what you are seeing. The reason behind this is the fact that the real treasure lies in the back of the phone.
The back of this best Android phone at the moment is completely covered in glass, with the top portion being shiny and the lower one having a matte finish. It sits so comfortably in your hand, it almost feels like velvet to the touch.
If you are thinking “Does having a glass backside make it more prone to scratching?” you might be right. However, it’s no regular glass. The glass in questions is Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is strong enough. As The Verge mentions, Gorilla Glass 5 can survive up to 80 percent of the time when dropped from 1.6 meters.
When it comes to other aspects of the design, Google decided to stick to making a water-resistant phone (it does have an IP86) and the usual power button and volume buttons on the side. Surprisingly enough, speakers are on the front side.
When it comes to the colors, you can choose from Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink (a baby pink). Also, something to keep in mind is that this time Google really decided to play with colors. As Max Parker from Trusted Reviews emphasized, the power button on the Clearly White Google Pixel 3 model is a minty green color.
The best screen out of all Google Pixel phones
Google Pixel 3 has a 5,5-inch OLED screen. The resolution of the panel is FHD+ (2160 x 1080).
Do you remember what we always mention when we talk about OLED screens? This type of display shows the best, the most vibrant black on the market. As a contrast, OLED screen offers bright and bold colors. In all fairness, if you really take a look at the colors, you’ll notice that there isn’t that much saturation to reds and greens, compared to some other smartphones at the market. That, however, doesn’t change how exceptional Google Pixel 3 screen is.
Fantastic Android 9 Pie
The one thing Google always delivers when making Google Pixel smartphones is the software. Saying that Android Pie runs like a charm is an understatement.
To be honest, all Android users are accustomed to clean user interface. This time, Google really made sure to have only the essential apps pre-installed. Additionally, all the features are well-incorporated and synced.
In one of our previous articles, we mentioned Android Pie, and it’s initiative to bring attention to digital wellbeing. This option is incorporated in Google Pixel 3, as well. Who knew a smartphone could take care of your health?
The best camera in the whole world (at the moment)
We mentioned we were going to save the best for last and Google Pixel 3’s camera definitely is that. Shortly put, you will get the most stunning photos, so effortlessly and efficiently, you won’t be even considering taking a picture with your professional camera. Here’s why.
Google Pixel 3 has, in fact, three cameras. A 12.2-megapixel sensor, with a f/1.8 aperture on the back and two cameras on the front, both with 8-megapixel sensors. One camera on the front is a wide-angle which means you won’t be cutting people off your selfies.
What makes these cameras so outstanding? Six features.
The first one is the range between the light and dark colors, also known as the dynamic range. This well-build dynamic range takes care of the flatness of the photos. No photo will look dull or 2D.
The second characteristic is camera sensors which are extremely detail-oriented. If you take a selfie with the camera on the back, you will notice so many details in the hair and skin.
The third and the perhaps the most exciting camera option is the Portrait mode, which Google introduced when creating Google Pixel 2. This feature is pure perfection. Google Pixel 3 really tries to put the object of the focus in the center, blurring the background. Not to mention, there is an option in which you can adjust the intensity of the blur.
The last three camera features are:
- the Night Sight, which allows you to take photos in low-light mode and boost the brightness without losing details,
- the Super Res Zoom which will enable you to take amazing zoomed-in images, thanks to the camera’s ability to combine multiple shots,
- the Top Shot, an option which will enable you to make various shots and choose the perfect one simply scrolling through all of them.
If these features haven’t managed to impress you, we don’t know what will!
Are you ready to buy the “new king”?
As you might know, this best Android phone at the moment was released on October 18 in the US and November 1 in the UK and Australia. We still wait to hear the date for the rest of the Europe. In fact, you can consider it to be Google’s treat for Halloween.
