Notable Apple Analyst Claims AirPods 2, AirPower Will Launch First Half Of 2019
Apple’s AirPower wireless charging mat was initially announced in 2017 alongside the iPhone X, but to date the device has yet to be launched. We have also been hearing rumblings about a possible second-gen set of AirPods headphones, and the good news is that these devices could be set for a launch in the coming months.
According to a report from MacRumors, they quote Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who claims that Apple’s AirPods 2 and AirPower wireless charging mat are set for a launch in the first half of 2019. According to Kuo, he claims that the AirPods 2 will feature improved Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging support, which presumably will be supported by the AirPower.
Kuo does not mention anything else about the AirPods 2, but we had previously heard that it could feature some health-tracking features and could also be offered in black with a new grippier finish. As for the AirPower, there were rumors that the device was on the cusp of being scrapped due the various issues that Apple had with its development due to the company being too ambitious.
However earlier this year there was a report that claimed that Apple had managed to address the issues plaguing the device. No word on when these devices will be officially announced, but Apple is rumored to be hosting an event on the 25th of March, so that’s a possibility, if not WWDC would be our next bet.
