Bixby Button On The Samsung Galaxy S10 Can Be Remapped

One of the annoying features in more recent Samsung phones is the dedicated Bixby hardware button. The idea behind it is that it will allow users to quickly launch the digital assistant at the touch of a button, but given that Bixby has been found to be lagging behind the competition, it’s not surprising that not many people want to use it.

At the start, users discovered that they could remap the button, but this was later stopped by Samsung which ticked off users to no end, but the good news is that a couple of years later, Samsung has finally given in. In a report from The Verge, they have confirmed that with the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S10, users will finally be able to remap the Bixby button to their own apps.

The button currently accepts single or double presses, and users will be able to choose what the presses do. For example you could choose to launch Instagram with a single press, which means that Bixby will launch on double press, and vice versa. Holding on the button for an extended period of time will launch Bixby voice, that much hasn’t changed yet.

This is great news for Samsung fans who might not have otherwise been too thrilled to have Bixby forced upon them, and having options means that users will no longer have a button on their phone that they won’t use.
