Upcoming Apple iPad Said To Retain Headphone Jack And Touch ID
Apple is expected to unveil a new iPad in the coming months and it’s now being reported that there may not be any surprises on the headphone jack front. A new report claims that the upcoming tablet from Apple is going to retail its headphone jack and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor which is embedded in the home button.
Macotakara reports no major cosmetic changes will be made to the next iPad. It will have largely the same enclosure with the headphone jack being present in addition to the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Apple would essentially be following the same strategy with which it launched the basic iPad last year. It didn’t bring any major changes compared to its predecessor as it had the same 9.7 inch display, Touch ID and headphone jack. It got support for the Apple Pencil in additional to improved internals which included a new processor.
The report cites information received from a supplier who mentions that the screen size of this iPad has not yet been decided but that it could be increased to 10 inches. It’s also said that this year’s new iPad may be announced alongside a new iPad mini. Earlier rumors have suggested that the latter is likely going to look like its predecessor as well.
