Tesla Model Y Crossover Officially Announced

Tesla has been dabbling in quite a few different car models, but in case the Model 3 sedan wasn’t really your style, then you might be pleased to learn that Tesla has since taken the wraps off its latest car model: the Model Y. The Model Y is a crossover car and the company has been steadily teasing its unveiling for the past few years.

Some of the specs of the car include a 300 mile range with a top speed of 130mph, and a time of 5.5 seconds to go from 0-60. Pre-orders are already open and it is expected to cost $42,700. If this is a bit too expensive for your liking, not to worry because there will be a slightly more affordable version that will cost $39,000 and will begin production in 2021.

Tesla had stated earlier this year that they expect to begin volume production of the Model Y in 2020, and given Tesla’s notoriety for its delivery, the only thing we can do is advise you to exercise some patience if you are planning on placing an order. The company states in its press release that deliveries will begin in fall 2020 for the Model Y, and like we said, the $39,000 Model Y Standard will only come in 2021.

In the meantime for those who want to start customizing their cars, head on over to Tesla’s Design Studio for the details.
