Don’t Expect To See X-Men In The MCU For A Very Long Time
With Disney’s acquisition of Fox having been completed, it means that franchises such as X-Men will be returning to Marvel. So the big question is, when will Marvel fold the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)? We know that this is almost a guarantee, with it only being a matter of time.
Unfortunately, it seems that fans could be waiting for quite a while. This is according to a report from io9 who spoke to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige who confirmed that the X-Men will be part of the MCU, but fans will probably have to wait a very long time as Marvel already has plans in place that they were developing ahead of the acquisition’s completion.
According to Feige, “It’ll be a while. It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set. So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and how nice it is that they’re home. That they’re all back. But it will be a very long time.”
More recently, Feige also revealed that the company will be announcing their plans for the MCU’s Phase 4 after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home which is currently set for July. It will be interesting to see what movies could make up Phase 4, although we do have an inkling based on several promised sequels.
