Google Fit Finally Makes Its Way Onto The iPhone

On iOS devices, Apple has the Health app which allows users to track their health-related data collected from apps and devices like the Apple Watch. Google also has a similar health app in the form of Google Fit which was for Android devices, but now it looks like iOS users who want to use Google Fit will be able to do so.

Google has announced that years after launching Google Fit, that the fitness and health tracking app will now be available for iOS users. Now the good news is that it doesn’t appear to be an either-or choice between Health and Google Fit. This is because Google Fit will actually integrate with Apple Health and the Apple Watch, so it basically gives users another app to use.

In addition to tracking your health and activity, Google Fit will also come with features designed to motivate users to stay active. If you own an Apple Watch, then you might be familiar with this concept. Google Fit will use what Google calls “Move Minutes” and “Heart Points”, where the goal is to try and accumulate as many points as you can in the day.

If you’re the sort that loves to challenge themselves, then those features could be worth taking a look at. Google Fit is now available for download so if you’d like to take it for a spin, head on over to the App Store for the download.
