August Halts View Smart Doorbell Sales After A Couple Of Weeks
Last month, August announced their new View smart doorbell where one of the highlights of the device was that it was wireless. This meant that users did not have to perform any particular complex installations to get it up and working. Unfortunately, it seems that the device has experienced one too many connectivity issues for the company to halt its sales.
If you were hoping to get your hands on the device, August has since published a statement on its website where they revealed that they will be pausing the shipping of the August View while they sort out some of the issues that their customers have run into. They have also announced that they will be providing full refunds to customers who have purchased it. All you need to do is visit their website and submit your application by the 3rd of May to be eligible for refunds.
According to August, “When you purchase an August product, you trust us with the most important parts of your life: your home and your family. We value your trust greatly and it is our top priority. In order to fully evaluate the user feedback, implement critical improvements, run further testing, and keep our commitment to you, we are pausing shipping of the August View.”
The company notes that they will be making the August View available again in the near future, but did not mention any specific dates, so we’ll be keeping our eye out for it.
