New phone leaks in fresh renders

Outside of Samsung, Apple, Google and Huawei, the company that most people seem to be interested in is OnePlus. This cheeky little firm has been tweaking the noses of the big players for a few years now, releasing cutting-edge devices that often sell for a fraction of what rival handsets do.

With that in mind, the launch of a new OnePlus phone is always cause for celebration, and we've already had several looks at the upcoming OnePlus 7. Rumoured to have a proper full screen display thanks to its pop-up camera, the phone will be available in standard and 'Pro' models – and the latter has just leaked online thanks to a series of renders posted by WinFuture.

To be honest, the OnePlus 7 Pro looks exactly like the standard OnePlus 7 – it has the same massive screen, for starters – but OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has referred to the screen as a “breakthrough” panel, which hints that it could offer something over the cheaper variant.

WinFuture – like a few other outlets – seems sure that this means the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a faster, 90Hz refresh rate for its screen, offering a much smoother performance. We're already seeing such panels on gaming phones like the Razer Phone, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Going beyond that, the rumoured specs will put both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro at the forefront of the 2019 mobile war. For the standard model alone we're looking at a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, 4,000mAh battery, stereo speakers, triple-cameras, Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB to 12GB of RAM. It's clear that the company is going to maintain its strategy of offering amazing specs for a reasonable price.

The OnePlus 7 will be formally announced later this month.
