Someone’s Selling The OG iPod On eBay For $20,000
Apple has, over the years, created a variety of products that has had its share of failures and successes. One of Apple’s biggest success stories which changed the way we listen to music, consumed music, and potentially played a role in the creation of the iPhone, is none other than the iPod.
While the iPod is no longer as popular as it once was, it’s hard to deny its place in Apple’s history. So much so that if you have $20,000 to spare, the original first-gen iPod has been spotted available for purchase on eBay. The seller, who seems to have pretty good feedback, has listed it for a cool $20,000.
Now, this is by no means cheap, but when you consider that this iPod is factory-sealed, meaning that it has never been opened, we can understand why the asking price is this high. We imagine that anyone who buys this will probably be doing so for collection purposes rather than to use it. After all, it only holds 5GB of storage which is a pittance by today’s standards.
According to the seller, he/she has been holding onto this for the past two decades, suggesting that they had an idea of what they were holding onto and that investment could soon pay off in a big way. We’re not sure who will end up buying it, but if you are an avid collector of Apple’s products and wouldn’t mind owning a piece of tech history, then it’s time to start digging deep.
