New Report ‘Confirms’ The iPhone 11 Will Support Wireless Charging

It was with the iPhone X that Apple finally and officially brought support for wireless charging to their iPhones. However, by then it felt like Apple was really late to the party because the competition not only supported wireless charging, but some devices like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro supported reverse wireless charging.

This gave the phone the ability to wireless charging another compatible device. However, it seems that Apple could be playing catch up because in a report from Bloomberg, Apple’s 2019 iPhones are rumored to support the feature as well. If this sounds familiar, it is because it was similarly reported back in March by Mac Otakara that reverse wireless charging could be a feature of Apple’s 2019 iPhones.

What this means is that the 2019 iPhones will have the ability to wirelessly charge another device that supports wireless charging and uses Qi, such as the AirPods. The report claims that this feature will be available across all the new iPhone models, meaning that even the supposed lower-end iPhone model will have it too.

It will be a pretty cool feature to have, although as we said, it’s not exactly groundbreaking as previously Samsung had also launched a similar feature with its Galaxy S10 series where it could be used to charge the Samsung Galaxy Buds headphones as well.
