Amazon Prime Delivery Times Will Soon Drop To Just One Day
The problem with online shopping is that you need to wait for your goods to arrive. Depending on the retailer, the delivery time can vary, which is how Amazon has stayed ahead of the competition where through its Prime membership, customers can expect free two-day deliveries.
However, if you are still holding out on purchasing a Prime subscription, you might want to rethink that because, during Amazon’s Q1 earnings report, the company’s CFO Brian Olsavsky has revealed that the company is working to change that two-day delivery timeline to just one-day. This means that your orders placed today will be delivered the next day.
Granted the free two-day shipping is already pretty fast, but we reckon shrinking that to one-day will encourage customers to sign up for a Prime membership or to encourage their shopping on Amazon’s platform. The Prime subscription also offers up other perks besides , such as access to music, videos, and also Prime-exclusive deals.
There is no word on when the changes are expected to be rolled out, but according to Olsavsky, “We’re currently working on evolving our Prime shipping program, which has historically been a two-day program, to a one-day shipping program. We’ll be building most of this capacity through the year in 2019.”
