Android Pie Update Rolling Out To Samsung Galaxy S8 Owners In Germany
It has been about two years since Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 handsets, and the good news for owners of the device is that if you were worried that Samsung had forgotten about you, it seems that they haven’t. According to a report from SamMobile, it appears that the company has started the rollout of the Android 9.0 Pie update for users in Germany.
The rollout in Germany is good news as it means that Samsung thinks that the update is stable enough to be released to the masses and it should be finding its way to other markets soon. We can’t say for sure when the update will find its way stateside, but hopefully it won’t be too far off. Also it might be slightly later for those who are locked to a carrier as usually these updates will require carrier approval.
According to SamMobile, the update weighs in around 1.6GB which makes it a pretty big download, so you’ll want to ensure that your device is connected to a power source and is charging, and that you’re also connected to a WiFi network if you’d rather not go over your data cap downloading the update. In the meantime for those who have yet to receive the update, not to worry as it should find its way to you eventually, but you can also try to manually pull the update via the Settings menu.
