Apex Legends Total Players Cross 10 Million In Three Days

Apex Legends is a new battle royale title from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment. Set in the world of its popular franchise, the developer said that it was putting a “lot on the line” by launching a battle royale game out of the blue. It has seen considerable response from players as the game racked up a million players in just eight hours after launch. Merely three days after the title arrives, the total Apex Legends players have crossed 10 million.

It’s interesting to note that Fortnite, which is without a doubt one of the most popular battle royale games, took two weeks to hit ten million players after it was launched by Epic Games. Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella wrote in a blog post that not only has the game crossed ten million players after launch, it has also breached 1 million concurrent players.

“We knew it would be risky to take the franchise in this direction, to go free to play, and do a surprise launch. But we fell in love with Apex Legends and wanted, needed, other people to play it too,” he added.

Like many of the popular battle royale games, Apex Legends is also free to play. The core gameplay experience is not unlike similar titles like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The game does require players to team up in squads of three. There are several accessibility features as well including one that allows gameplay without voice chat.

“This is just the beginning! We have so much more in store for you this year,” Zampella said, so fans of this game can rest assured that Apex Legends will continue to get better with time.
