Apple Music For Android Could Soon Get Chromecast Support

While music streaming services such as Spotify can be streamed directly through certain speakers, the same cannot be said for Apple Music. Instead, if users wanted to stream Apple Music through their speaker systems, they’d have to stream it over Bluetooth or connect a device to it.

Unfortunately those are some of the “costs” associated with Apple Music, but the good news is that if you’re an Android user with an Apple Music subscription, you might be in luck because according to 9to5Google, they have discovered within the APK teardown of the app that it looks like Apple could be working towards introducing Chromecast support for the app.

What this means is that if you have a device that supports Chromecast, such as a smart TV, or if you have the Chromecast dongle, you should soon be able to “cast” your stream from your mobile device to your speakers or TV and stream Apple Music. Unfortunately, there is no word on when this feature could be going live, but judging from the APK teardown, it could be soon.

What’s interesting about this discovery is that previously it was suggested that Apple Music could soon be supported by Google Home. However, Google had claimed that it was a bug that caused the feature to appear, but this teardown suggests that maybe there might be some truth to the original claims.
