Apple Will Let Users Gift Apple Music Subscriptions To Their Friends
While a subscription to Apple Music isn’t particularly expensive, we understand that there might be some hesitation when it comes to signing up for a subscription. That’s why Apple Music is giving users a free three-month trial to test out the service before signing up, but in case that wasn’t enough, not to worry.
For Apple Music evangelists who are trying to get their friends and family members to sign up for the service, it seems that Apple is now allowing users to gift their friends a monthly subscription to the service. However it should be noted that this is only applicable to those who aren’t signed up to the service already.
This means that if your friend is already signed up for the service and you’re trying to give them one extra month for free, you won’t be able to. Also if the person you’re trying to gift it to is on the free three-month trial, the subscription will only kick in after the trial has ended which effectively gives them a “free” four month subscription to the service.
That being said, it seems that the gifting feature isn’t live for all users yet, but there have been multiple user reports with users claiming to be seeing the feature live for them.
