Capcom Home Arcade Lets You Play Classic Games On Your TV

Nintendo really popularized mini-consoles by capitalizing on the nostalgia that fans had for its classic consoles. The strategy was then replicated to great success by the likes of Sega and Sony. Capcom is now jumping on the trend as well with the launch of the Capcom Home Arcade. It will enable you to play classic arcade games on your TV.

Capcom announced the Home Arcade today. It’s a simple plug-and-play system that will enable you to play classic arcade games on your TV. It will come with 16 games out of the box. The device itself has been designed in the shape of the Capcom logo for some reason. It will hook up to your TV using the HDMI cable and is powered using a simple USB cable.

It can also connect to Wi-Fi, something that a few other mini-consoles can’t do. Capcom says that this feature’s main use is for global online leaderboards. Dual control support is present which will enable you to have an arcade-style competitive experience with another player. The device comes with a pair of “competition class Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT sticks with 8-way GT-Y directional gates and OBSF buttons for the finest precision, response times and durability,” according to Capcom.

The 16 bundled games include the likes of Captain Commando, Eco Fighters, Mega Man: The Power Battle, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, and more. Capcom Home Arcade will be available starting October 25 for €229. Pricing details for North America have not yet been revealed.
