Following Fan Outcry, ‘Sonic’ Movie Director Promises Changes Are Coming

As many of you have probably heard or seen by now, there will be a movie released later this year based on SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Based on the promo images and the recently released trailer, many seemed to have negative reactions to the way Sonic look where he seemed a little strange.

It seems that the reactions have been so bad to the point where the movie’s director, Jeff Fowler, tweeted that changes to the design of the character will be made ahead of its release. “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”

It is unclear as to what kind of changes Fowler and the designers are going to make to the character, but hopefully, it will be for the better. In the meantime, it appears that some fans have already decided to go about making their own changes where the end result looks like a much, much better version of the character where it stays more true to its video game design while still looking semi-realistic.

The movie is currently set for a release this November so hopefully, the changes will be made in time and there won’t be any delay. For those who have yet to see the trailer, check it out above and let us know what you think of the current character design – yay or nay?
