More info ahead of the official announcement
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is going to be one of the year's biggest Android releases, not to mention one of the biggest smartphone launches of 2019. We already know an awful lot about the phone thanks to the fact that it has leaked several times over the past few months, but we've recently had some info which gets down to the finer details of the phone, and the kind of amazing tech it's going to be packing.
According to an insider report on GSM Arena, the hole-punch screen will play host to a pretty amazing selfie camera. The cam will have a resolution of 10-megapixels and also sport Optical Image Stabilisation, dual-pixel autofocus and 4K video capture, making it one of the most powerful front-facing cameras on the market. Furthermore, the screen which surrounds this lens will be an improved Super AMOLED display with 10-bit colour support.
Another piece of info about the camera suggests enhanced slow-motion support, which is now capable of capturing between 0.4 and 0.8 seconds of footage rather than the current 0.2 to 0.4 seconds, on the Galaxy S9.
The Galaxy S10 will come in three models, as we already know, with the S10 Plus packing a massive 4,100 mAh battery. As was previously hinted, this will support reverse wireless charging so you can charge other devices using the phone itself. The rumoured Galaxy Buds could be topped up using this system, for example.
Now for the less welcome news; it had previously been said that the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus (but not the S10 Lite) would have an all-screen fingerprint scanner, so wherever you placed your finger on the screen, the phone would be able to read it. However, according to this industry insider, this isn't the case and that actual contact area is much smaller. On the plus side, they did note that it was much faster to unlock than other examples of this tech.
Samsung is due to officially announce the Galaxy S10 at the end of this month; whether or not it has any secrets left to reveal remains to be seen, but the phone should still rank as one of the year's most desirable devices, especially is all of these rumours prove to be true.
