Grandma Almost Floats Out To Sea While Posing On An Iceberg
Posing for photographs is pretty much what everyone does, but we need to be more mindful of where we are posing. Unfortunately we have heard far too many stories of how people have chosen to pose at dangerous locations and have died as a result. This was nearly the same story for an adventurous grandma during a trip to Iceland.
In a report from ABC News, it seems that the grandma, Judith Streng, and her son were on holiday in Iceland when they stopped at Diamond Beach in Jökulsárlón. The grandma spotted an iceberg that looked like a throne and thought it was a good idea to sit on top of it to pose for a photo, but unfortunately according to Streng, “When I got on it, it started to totter and a wave was coming in. A very large wave came in and kind of made the throne kind of rock, and I could tell that I was slipping off.”
The wave then seemingly broke the portion of the iceberg Streng was sitting on and put her out to drift at sea. Thankfully there was a boat captain in the area who managed to rescue Streng before she drifted out too far, turning a potential tragedy into a hilarious adventure. According to Streng, “I thought it was safe. One girl had been on it and then two girls at the same time, and it was very secure with them. But I don’t weigh very much. So it was a little easier to float off with me, I guess.”
Streng seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about the entire ordeal where she also said, “I thought it [would] be quite fun. You know I always wanted to be queen. I mean, come on, that was my chance.”
