Huawei Launches ‘World’s First’ 5G Hardware For Automobiles
Huawei announced today that it has launched the world’s first 5G communications hardware for the automotive industry. The company has ambitions to become a major supplier of 5G solutions and it has been working to create products that were leverage the next-generation network technology. To that end, Huawei has announced the launch of its MH5000 module.
Huawei certainly has a vested interest in becoming the leading supplier of 5G network solutions. It currently happens to be the biggest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world. That’s despite the fact that it faces mounting scrutiny from the United States which has also been calling on its allies to ban Huawei’s communications equipment from their networks. Huawei has always denied allegations that its equipment could be used for espionage by secret forces in China.
The company says that its MH5000 module is based on its Balong 5000 5G chip which was unveiled back in January. “Based on this chip, Huawei has developed the world’s first 5G car module with high speed and high quality,” it adds. The MH5000 module has been launched by Huawei at the Shanghai Autoshow will runs until Thursday.
“As an important communication product for future intelligent car transportation, this 5G car module will promote the automotive industry to move towards the 5G era,” the company said. The module will help with its plans to commercialize 5G network technology for the automotive sector by the second half of this year.
