OnePlus 7 Only Brings Minor Updates, Won’t Be Released In The U.S.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has rightly hogged the spotlight at the company’s launch event today. It’s the most feature-packed smartphone from the company yet, one that can really hold a candle to some of the other flagship smartphones on the market. OnePlus has also launched the OnePlus 7 today but it only gets minor updates. Furthermore, it won’t be released in the United States.

While the OnePlus 7 Pro has got a sleek new design, the OnePlus 7 looks about the same as the OnePlus 6T. The only physical changes seem to be the slightly larger earpiece and the flash now being a part of the dual camera module as opposed to being positioned below it. Other than that, the device’s dimensions remain the same and it also keeps the same 6.41 inch 1080p AMOLED display. The only improvements of note are under the hood.

The OnePlus 7 also gets the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform which is exactly the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro. It will be available with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The main rear camera gets a 48 megapixel sensor with a 5 megapixel depth sensor. There’s also a 16 megapixel camera on the front placed in a waterdrop notch.

Additional improvements include a faster in-display fingerprint sensor and dual stereo speakers. There’s a 3,700mAh battery but no 3.5mm headphone jack. OnePlus 7 will be available next month with prices starting at €559. It won’t be released in the United States.
