Samsung Confirms They Are Working On Under-Display Camera Tech

At the moment, the only way for handsets to feature a “true” full-screen display is by using a popup or slideout front-facing camera. Otherwise, the alternative is by using a notch that houses the components, or by using a hole-punch display. However, the good news is that Samsung could soon launch phones with the “perfect” full-screen display.

In a report from MyDrivers, it seems that Samsung has confirmed that they are working on developing tech that would allow for cameras to operate while under the display. This would allow them to make a phone with a full-screen display that does not rely on any of the design options we mentioned above.

Now, this is not the first time that Samsung has revealed that they are working on such tech. It was previously reported that the company was exploring such an idea, and this report reaffirms that. Unfortunately, there is still no word on when this tech is expected to find their way into our smartphones, but it is definitely something to look forward to.

After all, companies have already successfully embedded fingerprint sensors under the displays of our phones, so we imagine that embedding a camera does seem like a genuine possibility.
