The best-sellers of 2018
C’mon, admit it – this is your favorite type of text on our Blog. And how could it not be?! Each end of the year we present you only the best of the best in the smartphone industry and 2018 is no exception. So, in today’s article, we are going to cover a list of best-sellers of 2018.
Note: We made a list of top 5 best-sellers this year. Sure, we could have made the top 10 or top 15 but who would want to own the 11th best selling smartphone this year? Not you!
Enjoy!
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
We are madly in love with this smartphone and here’s why. First off, let’s talk about design because Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a real beauty. This smartphone comes in five different shades (Blue, Emerald Green, Black, Pink Gold, and Twilight) and has a 6.39 inch OLED screen to follow it.
Second, it has 3 (yeah, that’s the number!) rear cameras with 40MP, 20MP, and 8MP. If that doesn’t sound impressive, let us remind you it also has an AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology built-in to help you take even more precise and vivid photos.
In case you are wondering about the performance… well, don’t you worry. Kirin 980 has your back. If we mention the combination of Android 9.0 Pie and EMUI with a 4,200 mAh battery you are probably going to start to believe that this smartphone is a powerhouse.
Are you surprised to see Huawei as one of the best-sellers of 2018? Don’t be. Huawei really stepped up this year, and we are excited for what’s to come.
Google Pixel 3
You must remember when we wrote about Google Pixel 3 being the best phone. Was it at the end of October? Well, a few things changed since then, but Google Pixel 3 still made the cut.
Let’s start with the big guns first 一 Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB, and 128GB integrated storage. Impressive, right? It’s also water resistant and has one rear camera of 12.2 MP, and dual front-facing cameras. Do we have to mention it runs on Android 9 Pie?
The thing we like so much about Google Pixel is the fact that it is smaller than the rest of the mentioned best-sellers of 2018 and it works just as good. When it comes to design all we have to say is that Google really put effort into creating a smartphone that keeps the Google spirit but looks classy and even trendy.
Note: If you are wondering about Google Pixel 3 XL, remember that it has the same specs as its smaller cousin. The only difference lies in display size and battery strength.
Apple iPhone XS Max
Not only is this the most expensive phone Apple has ever launched it also the largest one.
Taking a look “under the hood”, the first thing we have to mention is an A12 Bionic chipset which “only” means it’s basically as fast as Flash. The second thing is the internal storage 一 64GB or 512GB, depending on the model.
When it comes to intangible specs of this phone, you have to know that it runs on iOS 12 which makes it super fast. Additionally, regarding design, we have nothing specific to add 一 it’s a simple, classy, recognizable Apple design that wows us every time. However, the one thing that has changed is the type of display which is now OLED, with deep black and more richness in other colors.
Did iPhone XS Max deserve to be on of the best-sellers of 2018? Hell yeah!
LG V40 ThinQ
Now, this shouldn’t be a surprise because this Korean brand definitely made something worth mentioning and admiring.
The smartphone in question is a pure eye-candy with 6,4-inch OLED screen and a glass design on the back. With Android Oreo and 3300 mAh, it’s really more then you can ask for.
The thing that made LG V40 ThinQ so special is the “ThinQ” part. This means that you can connect all the LG devices in comfort of your own home and control them via this smartphone. The only condition? They have to all be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Additionally, the ThinQ part is connected to the camera which allows this device to create amazing photos.
However, there is one more thing that blew our minds, and that is why it made the best-sellers of 2018 list. LG V40 has five cameras 一 three on the back and two on the front. If you are interested to see how they perform, be sure to check the post on Wired.com.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Erm, we have to admit it was a tough choice when it came to Samsung 一 choosing between Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy S9. In the end, the Note one won and here’s why. Sure, it has 4,000 mAh battery, two rear cameras (both 12 MP), a processor that works flawless (Exynos 9810), a jaw-dropping 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen but all of that almost doesn’t count. We are used to Samsung being a perfectionist. And that’s when Bluetooth S Pen comes in the picture.
Shortly put, Bluetooth S Pen is a pen which allows you to capture photos from up to 30 feet away remotely. That’s amazing!
Psst! Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also has 512GB of storage.
Will you hide one of these under the Christmas tree?
Now that you know which smartphones were best-sellers of 2018, there’s only one question: Which of these will you gift to your loved ones (or buy it for yourself)?
We tried to answer the same question and miserably failed (because we just can’t make a decision) so we’ll leave the tough choice up to you. Just be sure to let us know, in the comment section down below.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Mobile Shop Team!
