Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Blends Xbox Live And Game Pass Into A Single Subscription
Amid reports that Microsoft was going to launch a disc-less Xbox One S, it was said that the company would also launch a new subscription service which will merge Xbox Live and Game Pass into one package. That’s precisely what it has done after officially launching the aforementioned disc-less Xbox One S. Microsoft calls this new subscription plan the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, subscribers pay a single monthly charge and get both Xbox Live Gold and the Xbox Game Pass for $14.99. This provides them with savings of around $5 per month compared to the $19.98 they would have to pay in order to subscribe to both services individually.
Microsoft has only announced the new subscription service at this point in time. It will test it out first with members of the Xbox Insider program before rolling it out to customers in all markets where the Xbox Game Pass is available later this year.
The latest iteration of its Xbox console is officially called the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. Priced at $250, the only thing different about it is that it doesn’t come with a disc drive and ships with 1TB of internal storage. Microsoft starts selling it on May 7th.
